AIKO Open Worldchampionships November 2024

Last weekend the Open AIKO World championships were held in Hungary in the town Mosonmagyaróvár which lies between Bratislava (Slovakia) and Györ (Hungary)
The competition had around 250+ competitors coming from around 20 countries like Hungary, Khazachstan, Turkmenistan, Germany, Romania, Latvia, Slovakia, Greece, Switzerland, Croatia, Chech Republic, Ukraine, Iran, Netherlands and others.

Working on 4 different tatamis, the various categories were running all day to complete. The matches were being supervised by skilled referees from different organizations.
Overseeing the whole were two head referees 1 from the AIKO 1 from Kyokushin. The open style of the competition means that other organization’s
can attend our tournaments and evaluate their own adaptation to different rulesets. Unfortunately, some styles did not want to fight under the AIKO Ruleset and decided not to come.  Also a big thanks to the Hungarian Delegation for making this tournement a success and especially to Sensei Krisztian Horviath and his team for all his effort, he has been a working on this for the last year, a job well done, Osu.

As for our Dutch Delegation it has been a good weekend with the following prices
Melissa Schild 1st, Buis Ebbinge 1st, Milan Ebbinge 2nd, Ben Paans 2nd + best fighter, Maikel Ouwens 3rd, Marc de Roodt 1st

We want to thank everybody who was at the championships and gave his or her best, you all are winners in our book, and we hope you enjoyed it so much.
Hopefully, we will see each other again in another championship or a camp.

Osu.
